Due to client confidentiality, we can only showcase a selection of our smaller projects. Nevertheless, every larger project embarks on the same detailed journey from initial concept through to final realisation.

The customer in this case approached us (through word of mouth) to turn one of his big kinematic sculptures into a desktop version using state of the art machining for a limited edition run. As you can see, we went from pencil sketch to creating 3D models to finalise the overall shape, before determining the details for the top and bottom bearing arrangements. From there, we investigated the best way of manufacturing the components, both from a consistency and an economic angle. Once we established the manufacturing method and process, we had to design and make a selection of jigs and fixtures for the milling process.

This is another example, where someone approached us, wanting a custom made enclosure for a new Hifi amplifier design. While these smaller jobs are only part of our range, they show the process from design to completion, which is no different for complete machines and systems.

3D Printing

At TF Design, our advanced 3D printing capabilities provide innovative solutions for rapid prototyping and high-performance functional parts. We utilise a state-of-the-art Markforged printer to produce functional components from a wide range of engineering plastics. For applications requiring exceptional strength and stiffness, additional fibre reinforcement is optional, integrating materials like carbon fibre or fibreglass directly into your parts. This versatile technology is perfectly suited for manufacturing durable automotive parts, custom-designed fixtures, specialised grippers and similar industrial tooling. Our 3D printing service offers a fast, precise, and cost-effective method to transform your complex designs into tangible, high-quality engineered components.
